  • Braiding Hemp Bracelets

    Making a Hemp Bracelet uses a series of knots to make the flat long structure to make the bracelet. This class introduces the most common knots used. Students will produce (most will complete during class) a bracelet that they can take home. This class introduces techniques that can be used with other knots to make macrame or other structures. Kit: contains all the cording necessary to make one bracelet. Methods to make an embellished bracelet will be shown, but embellishments will not be provided.
    Class is portable.

  • Braiding with Embellishments

    Class will expand simple braiding stitches by adding embellishments and other effects that result in a more complicated braided project. Student will design own project based on the materials available, to make a custom item of their choice. Projects will be completed outside of class time. Kit: Materials for several different types of projects and sketches illustrating the construction techniques required for each will be available.
    Time: One-Hour minimum

  • Cake Assembling

    Aspects of and methods to use for assembling a multi-layer decorated cake will be discussed, with examples shown of different cake assembly options. Material charges may apply.

  • Cake Decorating, Base Coating

    Basics of cake decorating will be discussed. Class will demonstrate techniques for application of a smooth base coat of icing for cake decorating. Students will have the opportunity to practice coating a cake with butter cream icing. Material charges may apply.

  • Cake Decorating, Borders

    Borders are normally applied after a base coat of icing. Different types of borders will be shown and the students will have the opportunity to practice applying several different types of borders. Material charges may apply.

  • Cake Decorating, Flower Introduction

    Class will show different types of flowers that can be used to decorate cakes. Students will have the opportunity to try a few different types of flowers. Material charges may apply.
    Time: One-Hour
    Minimum Age: 8

  • Candle Making, Dipping

    This class will introduce candles and specifically cover the making of candles by dipping them. Students will make a small dipped candle as part of the class. Material charges may apply.
    Time: Thirty-Minutes
    Minimum Age: 5 with Adult
    Maximum Class Size: 12

  • Candle Making, Beeswax

    Different types of candles will be shown and discussed. The advantages of beeswax for candles will be discussed. Candle making techniques will be highlighted, and a simple molded beeswax candle will be made in class for each student. Other forms of candles or oil-based lamps will be discussed. A kit will not be provided, but there will be a charge for materials for the class.

  • Candle Molding

    Class will discuss complications with making a silicone mold for candles. Most modern candles are molded. One candle will be made using a candle mold. Molding with various molds will be discussed. A simple candle mold will then be made in the class. Since it has a cure time of up to six hours, this mold will not be available for use in the class. Long class time needed to allow the wax to cool in the example candle molded during the class.

  • Candy Making, Caramel

    Students will participate in making caramel. Carmel takes time to cool before it can be cut, so if the student wants to take some home, a suitable metal or glass container should be brought to carry the still cooling caramel home from the class. Material charges may apply.
